Meet Dr. Keith Mathis (Springfield Missouri)
Dr. Mathis brings a lifetime of passionate ministry and leadership to every room he steps into. With bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in theology—plus an additional master’s in management and a PhD in administration—he combines deep biblical insight with strong real-world leadership expertise.
For 15 years, he served as a full-time Southern Baptist pastor, followed by 17 years as a faithful bi-vocational pastor. Today, he continues to pour into churches across the country as a guest speaker and intercessory pastor, encouraging believers and strengthening leaders for kingdom impact.
Family is at the heart of his ministry. Keith and his wife, Wanda, have been married for 32 years and are blessed with four grown children and 13 wonderful grandchildren. His two sons both serve as long-term pastors—one leading First Baptist Dadeville, and the other serving a church he planted in St. Louis—continuing a legacy of faith in the next generation.
Since 1995, Dr. Mathis has been shaping leaders in higher education, teaching at the master’s and doctoral levels. He has served as an associate professor at Liberty University since 2010, where he teaches as a professor, serves as a subject matter expert, and chairs the doctoral program. In recent years, Liberty tapped him to help explore the future of artificial intelligence in education, launching him into cutting-edge research that bridges ministry, leadership, and technology.
Keith and Wanda also lead The Mathis Group, a leadership and project management development firm celebrating more than 30 years of training leaders across the government, corporate, and nonprofit sectors—including clients such as the State of Missouri, Ameren Utilities, and the FAA. Their mission has always remained the same: build leaders who create positive changes.
Dr. Mathis is here today to inspire, equip, and encourage us to lead with excellence and to live with purpose.
