Engaging Our Mormon Neighbors

Engaging Our Mormon Neighbors is designed to equip Greene County Baptists to have meaningful gospel conversations with members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

With a new LDS temple coming to Springfield, it’s vital that Missouri Baptists understand the history and teachings of Mormonism, which presents itself as true, restored Christianity but is, in fact, a counterfeit form of the Christian faith.

The apostle Paul warns us to beware of false teachers who proclaim “another Jesus, a different Spirit, a different gospel” (2 Cor. 11:4). And the apostle Peter urges us to be ready at all times to defend the Christian faith with gentleness and respect (1 Pet. 3:15-16).

We will offer an overview of LDS history and test Mormon doctrines by Scripture so we're ready to share our faith with existing and new Mormon neighbors.
